Invoice discounting facility secured to support business through new challenges
Established in 2013, our client delivers managed support services, from the provision of trained personnel in industry-specific vehicles to the implementation of traffic management schemes.
The business had been using invoice discounting since 2014 and had found it to be a supportive and flexible form of finance. However, this year the business, like many others, found itself facing new challenges brought about by the effects of the pandemic, resulting in many of their projects facing significant delays.
Our client’s Managing Director decided to diversify to source alternative work but, despite an upturn in sales, increased business and fuel costs meant that improving the business’s position became a challenge. Unfortunately, simultaneously, their existing funder’s criteria for lending evolved, meaning they needed additional support which wasn’t possible within their existing facility structure.
Like many businesses, our client faced the tough decision to have to increase its prices in line with escalating business expenses and running costs. To facilitate the required funding, a new funder was sourced by Hilton-Baird Financial Solutions to ensure the business could continue to keep cash flowing whilst waiting for customer payments.
Hilton-Baird’s client manager has maintained contact throughout the relationship, which spans back to 2014. As well as ensuring the facility we had originally introduced continued to work optimally, over the years our team has also assisted our client in securing complementary finance facilities.
On this occasion however, Hilton-Baird evaluated the new circumstances and, as an alternative provider was key to future success, potential new funders that would provide the best support for the business today and also going forward were identified. A new invoice discounting facility was subsequently secured to enable them to navigate their way to strength post the pandemic.
