Stock Finance

What is Stock Finance?

Commonly provided as part of a wider asset based lending facility, stock finance enables businesses to release capital against the value of inventory that would otherwise be tied up within your balance sheet.

How much funding you can access depends on the type of stock you are looking to release cash against, be it raw materials, work in progress or finished goods, but it can be extremely valuable at helping to improve a business’s cash flow.

What are the benefits of stock finance?

  1. Releases working capital that would otherwise be tied up
  2. The funding released can be used to seek new business opportunities or fund growth and expansion through mergers and acquisitions, MBO and MBIs
  3. It’s a revolving facility, enabling access to capital as and when you need it
  4. Funding can be released against stock held in the UK and overseas
  5. Particularly useful for companies in the retail, wholesale and international trade industries as it allows for seasonal stock requirements
  6. Asset based lending facilities additionally release funding against assets such as debtors, property, plant and machinery
